You judge a society by the way it treats it's lowest members ...

Indonesian media and officials are getting very upset with the recent criticism they've been receiving by the Australian press saying that we should respect their laws in regards to drug dealers - they may be harsh but they are fair.
Well, fuck that, executing someone for dealing drugs, even if it is heroin, is excessive.  And even if the charges are reduced to life imprisonment the quality of Indonesian prisons is disgusting.  A society is to be judged by the way it treats its lowest members, in most cases, that is the prisoners.  The way that Indonesians treat their prisoners is contemptible, therefore that society is contempible.  It has been like this for a long time, recent events have just brought it to the fore.
